The Hermès Sac Mallette 27cm is a rare and highly collectible vintage handbag with its origins dating back to the 1950's. The name “Mallette,” meaning “small suitcase” in French, refers to its structured, briefcase-like silhouette and practical compartmentalised interior and it is often referred to as a "doctor's bag" because of this.
The primary compartment, spacious and lined with Rouge H Chevre leather, includes two pockets to secure your essentials, the top opens with two elegant snap locks. Meanwhile, the second compartment, tucked at the base, has a Rouge H Grosgrain lining accompanied by a luxurious velveteen pillow and opens with a double lever clasp and pinch lock closures.
The Sac Mallette's iconic design and historical significance were spotlighted in the V&A's "Bags: Inside Out" exhibition, a testament to its enduring allure and the intrigue surrounding luxury handbags.
