The Kelly 28 is a bag which moves from day to evening and comes in either the relaxed Retourne style or the more structured and boxier shaped Sellier. This was a small bag, and is now considered a medium size piece which will fit a Smartphone, compact wallet, keys, sunglasses, make up essentials, passport, small notebook and a pen.

Hermès Material

Known as Gulliver until it was discontinued in 1999, this leather was reintroduced in 2005 as Swift. It has a fine grain which is soft to the touch and the ability to absorb dyes and reflect the light make it very popular. The drawback to Swift is that it is easily scratched so needs careful handling.

Toile refers to the woven fabric, usually cotton or a cotton blend, used by Hermès in many of its handbags often in conjunction with leather. A finely woven canvas - the term “Quadrille” refers to the small square or checked pattern, achieved by weaving threads of two or more tones, usually neutral shades such as beige, ecru, or grey.

Hermès Colour

Hermès Mauve Sylvestre is a pretty pastel pink with a soft lavender undertone, introduced in 2019 and inspired by delicate wildflowers. It most commonly appears in Epsom or Swift leathers.

Hardware

Hermès Palladium hardware is made of solid brass, giving weight and durability, and then plated in precious metal. Palladium belongs to the platinum group of metals and has a brighter and whiter look than silver. More precious than gold, palladium is hard wearing and scratch-resistant.
