Shiny Alligator construction features a high-gloss finish achieved through traditional buffing techniques, resulting in a mirror-like sheen that enhances the natural beauty of the material. This used to be the smallest Kelly available and is still rather cute! It is proportionally taller than its larger and smaller cousins, which maintains a certain elegance. It works well as a bag for lunching and dining. While it can be worn cross body, it is a little too tall so looks more fabulous grasped between dainty fingers.
Hermès Material
The high-gloss finish of Shiny Alligator is achieved by buffing the skin with a stone. This traditional technique compresses the surface scales and produces a natural, mirror-like sheen which can help disguise small imperfections. The central scales are rectangular, gradually tapering to smaller, rounder ones toward the edges, creating a balanced and symmetrical pattern. Alligator is signified by a small square ☐ next to the Hermes name on the bag.
Hermès Colour
A super bright red with coral-pink undertones vivid from 2010. Inspired by the vibrant hue of the geranium flower, this colour sits between true red and pink. Similar and sometimes hard to differentiate from Bougainvillea, just a tad more orange in undertone.
Hardware
Hermès Gold hardware is made of solid brass, giving weight and durability, plated in either 18 carat gold, or for some Special Order bags, 24 carat gold and then hand polished. Choose gold hardware for a warm, luxurious finish to your bag.
