Hermès Style & Size
Designed in 1959 by Catherine Chaillett and named after her daughter, the Hermes Constance is practical, stylish and versatile. The 24cm has a slightly shorter shoulder strap than the 18cm which makes it more of a bag to carry on the shoulder than crossbody. The larger size allows you to carry more than just the bare essentials meaning it’s more suitable for day to day use.
Hermès Material
The successor to Courchevel leather, Epsom is an embossed calfskin with a fine grain and subtle sheen. It absorbs colour well and the rigid nature of the leather means it is often used for Sellier style bags.
Hermès Colour
Etoupe is one of Hermès’ most iconic and versatile neutral colours - a soft, taupe-grey with cool and earthy undertones. Subtle and sophisticated Etoupe strikes a perfect balance between grey and brown, making it one of their most enduring and wearable shades. It might be one of the cleverest colours known to the world of luxury accessories. In bright sunlight in can appear clear and uplifting: on dark stormy days it adopts a more sombre appearance. It’s considered a classic Hermes colour, produced every season of every year, and like gold (the Hermes tan) is always made with contrast white stitching.
Hardware
Hermès Palladium hardware is made of solid brass, giving weight and durability, and then plated in precious metal. Palladium belongs to the platinum group of metals and has a brighter and whiter look than silver. More precious than gold, palladium is hard wearing and scratch-resistant.
