Matte Crocodile construction features a hand-buffed finish that enhances the natural texture, resulting in a matte appearance with subtle shine. The matte finish is less delicate than shiny crocodile, with wear marks and scratches being less visible, though still sensitive to water.

Designed in 1959 by Catherine Chaillett and named after her daughter, the Hermes Constance is practical, stylish and versatile. The 24cm has a slightly shorter shoulder strap than the 18cm which makes it more of a bag to carry on the shoulder than crossbody. The larger size allows you to carry more than just the bare essentials meaning it’s more suitable for day to day use.
Hermès Material
The matte effect is achieved by gentle hand buffing with felt to enhance the natural texture leaving a completely matte finish with a subtle shine. Matte Croc is not quite as delicate than Shiny; wear marks and slight scratches are less visible although still sensitive to water. Earthier colours look particularly good with a matte finish.
Hardware
Hermès Palladium hardware is made of solid brass, giving weight and durability, and then plated in precious metal. Palladium belongs to the platinum group of metals and has a brighter and whiter look than silver. More precious than gold, palladium is hard wearing and scratch-resistant.
