Hermès Ashtray Mountain Zebra in Chlorophylle

Alice Shirley designed this image of a Cape mountain zebra foal that has wandered off to explore the unique vegetation of the southernmost region of the South Africa.  In spring, the area transforms into a fragrant, multi-colored carpet of flowers, many of which were reproduced in the original scarf design and on which this ashtray is based. Made from porcelain the ashtray has a hand painted gold trim and a goatskin base.
